Welcome to the WorkLife Café.

We hope to inspire a better way of living through the WorkLife Café.  People worldwide are rushing and struggling, trying to meet the demands of work and life. Supporting work/life balance has positive implications for our health, our families, our communities, our workplaces, our healthcare system, and even our planet!

In Small is Beautiful; Economics as if People Mattered, published in 1973, E.F. Schumacher encouraged "studying the possibilities of alternative methods of production and patterns of living ~ so as to get off the collision course on which we are moving with ever-increasing speed".

Our goal is to promote innovative ways of working and living that benefit people, productivity and the planet.  For example, supporting flexible work arrangements can help people more effectively integrate work and life, enhance an organizations' ability to attract, motivate and retain a diverse group of talented people, and even help reduce carbon emissions by changing commuting and power consumption patterns.

We start with our website, that provides tips and tools for managing work and life.

We offer WorkLife Balance workshops designed for organizations to help people reduce stress, and stay happy, healthy and working.  Licenced Facilitators available throughout BC.

We offer Facilitator Training for in-house trainers.  Contact us for information.

Our Team

Charlene Levis, WorkLife Founder,  established WorkLife® in 1998 when she made her own difficult worklife choice ~ choosing to give up a career that she loved in favour of flexible work hours so that she could fit work around the schedule of her children.  Charlene has been passionate about worklife topics ever since and created the WorkLife Café to share this passion.

Sandra Verhoeff, Graphic Designer and owner of Signet Studios brings passion and incredible talent as a graphic designer to the site. Sandra is the creator of the look of the WorkLife Café, including the logos and fun product designs.
